For those of you who wish to hone one particular skill why not try one of our intimate all-inclusive workshops where Marie Clare will take you through the steps and show you the techniques, tools and tricks-of-the-trade to achieve the desired effect - all equipment, tools and materials included in the price and you get to take home what you make - yum, yum - so let's get Britain baking!

2. PME Professional Diplomas

There are three PME Professional Diploma modules which count towards your Masters Certificate: Sugarpaste, Sugar Flowers and Royal Icing & Piping.

Each module is a completely separate course and it is not essential to complete all three modules as PME Professional Diplomas will be awarded on completion of each module. The Masters Certificate will be awarded on completion of all three modules.

Please remember that the PME Diplomas represent a considerable commitment due to the length of course, associated homework requirements and materials list, so read the notes and Terms and Conditions attached thoroughly.

Note: PME Professional Diploma modules are designed specifically for anyone wishing to produce cakes to a professional standard for family & friends or as a commercial business and follow strictly the PME Curriculum as outlined in the course workbook supplied. In addition to the 25 hours spent in class, students will be expected to practice and complete homework in their own time in preparation for the subsequent week's class. To facilitate each Diploma students will be supplied with an essential equipment and materials list prior to commencement. Students are under no obligation to fulfil this list from SugarCraftShop, for example, they may already have their own favourite rolling pin, though they will qualify for a 10% DISCOUNT on all PME-branded purchases made from SugarCraftShop for the duration of the course.

How to make small quantities of Royal Icing and all the tips and tricks to make your cakes look perfect. Last task will be to finish an iced cae for your to take home.

How to make the perfect sponge time after time. Students will make and decorate cupcakes as well as making a full-sized sponge.

Pastillage is a form of icing which sets very hard quickly. This worskhop covers the basic techniques and production methods; thereafter students will put it all into practice with some cutting and shaping into useful and decorative structural forms.

PFB1M Saturday (18/02/12) 10.00-12.15pm, £45

get britain bakingCreating the Perfect Finish CLASS FULL

This two-night class covers the essential preparation required before creating the perfect finish. Students will be given two sponges and tutored through filling, coating and decorating them to take home. In the second night students will learn the different grades of finishing and after some practice on dummy cakes, will be given a prepared filled sponge to cover and finish.

Beginners class using flower paste to make wired flowers and foilage. Roses, calla lillies, filler flowers, rose and ivy leaves will be covered.

Students must have completed Beginners Sugar Flowers 1 (BSF1) to enrol for this class. Continuing on from Class 1 we concentrate on Carnations, Freesia, Thistles, Fine detailed Roses, colouring and dusting.

General Terms & Conditions

Saturday classes start at 10.00am. Evening classes start at 6.15pm - student access from 6.00pm. On class evenings shop is open from 5.30-6.00pm for collections of pre-paid internet and telephone orders

PME Diploma Terms & Conditions

Course fees must be paid at time of booking. PME students receive a 10% discount on PME products for the duration of their course. Students are expected to produce some items at home in preparation for the next week's class. Students will receive an equipment list prior to commencement. Students must attend 26 hours of class time to complete each module. While the rescheduling of a single class is possible, only one reschedule is allowed per student. Any further absences must be made up at the students own cost. Course fees are non-refundable unless the place is taken by another student. Courses normally carry a waiting list, so we do our utmost to fill a cancellation. Also, gift vouchers can be used to purchase courses.
