After his creator is arrested for illegal experiments, test subject 626 manages to escape to a small Hawaiian island on Earth. There, the little blue alien meets Lilo, who warmly welcomes him into her family. Disguised as a dog called Stitch, he finds shelter there and, together with Lilo, is even able to persuade the president of his home planet's council to allow him to stay on Earth.
